Theme : L’emploi à l’international
Presentation made by Pôle Emploi International
The SME breakfast is an ideal networking opportunity for all small and medium business owners looking to exchange ideas, discuss challenges and find solutions in the form of a roundtable breakfast event.
Our October SME breakfast was led by Anne-Sophie Gervais d’Aldin and Claire Arenales del Campo, who are part of the International Mobility team for Pôle Emploi. Pôle Emploi International is an institution offering services to those searching for international job offers from France.
Anne-Sophie and Claire outlined the main principals of this international service. The Pôle Emploi International Mobility website provides numerous links and relevant information in order to aid the job hunting process. A search engine for international job offers is provided, as well as news, preparation for working abroad and useful links and contacts for candidates, such as Erasmus and Destination Canada.
The job offer search engine is simple and easy to use; simply select the location and the sector of work desired and a list of job offers will be provided, including information relating to the experience required, responsibilities, salary etc. The contact details are also provided in order for the candidates to send their application. Employers can post a job offer on the website for free, just by filling in an online submission form.
The jobs advertised online are mainly in sectors such as the hospitality sector, engineering, health, finance and distribution sectors.
An international area on the website www.emploi-store.fr offers services accessible to all including an area named: “Tomorrow I’m going abroad” divided into 3 sub-categories:
- To be informed – specific information relating to the country of your choice
- Prepare and carry out your project – interview simulators in English and German as well training workshops for UK, Germany and Canada etc.
- Anticipate and value your return – a language level tester and free online courses
Services for employers were also discussed. Foreign companies looking for French workers are able to advertise on the site as well as French companies established abroad in search of French qualifications. Companies have the possibility of organizing online fairs or job dating events in the Paris branch of Pole Emploi.
For job seekers with a professional mobility project abroad, Pôle emploi offers a range of specific support services. Also, financial assistance is provided for the candidate and for their employer if the company has less than 250 employees.
We would like to thank Anne-Sophie and Claire for all their time and work put into this interactive and informative presentation. It was incredibly popular and relevant for all those in attendance. The breakfast concluded with coffee, croissants and networking.
