The COBCOE Chamber of the Year Awards were presented at the Awards Dinner on Thursday 27th April at the Ironmongers’ Hall in London.

Recognising exceptional talent and achievements by member chambers across the COBCOE European network, the Chamber of the Year Awards highlight the innovation, flair, entrepreneurship and sound organisation that member chambers offer, and the quality of the services they provide. These awards also recognise the ways in which chambers make a real difference in developing trade and investment and supporting the wellbeing of their local business communities.

Our General Manager, Catherine Le Yaouanc was attending and accepted our award for excellence in Digital Communications. The judges statement on their choice for the award; “Many chambers now have strong digital communications with Twitter, Facebook, blogs, etc. which makes it difficult to judge unless you look in detail at the objectives, quality of output and volume. Despite being one of the oldest chambers, founded in 1873, its digital communications were the considered the best.”

It is a great honour to be recognised for our efforts in digital communications with our social media following ever increasing. Our Multimedia Director, Martin Dixon and the team in Paris have worked hard to step up on our social media presence on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. This hardwork has clearly paid off, shown by our twitter following of over 10 thousand followers.

Martin Dixon says: “Winning this award for the second time in 3 years is a great achievement for the team. The world of digital communications doesn’t stand still and we have embraced a number of new platforms and technologies since our win in 2015. Our digital reach enables us to be more effective for our members whose interests are the reason we do what we do.”

We would like to thank the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE) for presenting us this award for the 2nd time (2015 & 2017) and we hope to be recognised further for the strength of our social media presence and digital communication.
