Since buying HBOS in January 2009, the Lloyds Banking Group is the biggest financial institution in the United Kingdom. With 30 million clients and well known subsidiaries such as Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows, Lex Autolease & Black Horse, Lloyds has a rich heritage stretching back over more than 250 years. The group is present in France through Lloyds Bank and its commercial banking division , serving a client base of big and medium sized French companies who trade and invest in the United Kingdom.
Benedict Brogan joined Lloyds Banking Group in January 2015 as Public Affairs Director. Before that he was a political columnist and blogger, and deputy editor of the Daily Telegraph. His 25 years in journalism spanned the Telegraph, the Daily Mail and the Glasgow Herald. He reported the fall of the Berlin Wall, covered five general elections, interviewed Bashar Assad, and was one of the most influential lobby correspondents at Westminster, where he launched the Morning Briefing email that became the must-read of British politics. His role is to lead the Group’s external engagement with politicians, officials and regulators at every level, in London, Brussels and beyond.
Wayne joined Lloyds Banking Group in 1990 and is responsible for leading a team of Trade and Working Capital professionals who support clients globally across all industry sectors. A 30 year banking career has seen Wayne hold a variety of leadership, relationship management and business development roles in Corporate Banking including Leveraged Finance as well as leading teams in Trade, Invoice Finance and Asset Finance product specialisms.
With more than 5,000 employees, Eversheds Sutherland has 66 offices covering 32 jurisdictions. Its international presence, coupled with local market knowledge makes Eversheds Sutherlands a major player in legal affairs on a global level.
Ros is head of Eversheds Sutherland’s Competition, EU and Trade Group and has been a Partner in their commercial practice since 1989. She specialises in cartels, competition investigations, distribution and market studies/investigations, and also advises on all aspects of EU law. Ros acts for major companies in the automotive, consumer, energy, financial services, food, insurance and pharmaceutical sectors. Her clients include Pentland Brands, The Finance & Leasing Association, Volkswagen Group, RWE and Volvo.
Dan Roskis is a Partner based in the Paris office where he heads the Competition Law practice and the Company Commercial group. He specialises in French and European competition and distribution law.
He advises major public and private companies, both French and international, on the definition and implementation of their commercial and pricing policies (anticompetitive or restrictive trade practices and abuse of dominant position). Dan has also developed significant expertise in merger control, notably as regards the filings of acquisitions and JVs to the competent national or EU competition authorities.
