Dordogne delegation of FBCCI co-host “One Stop Shop” Information event

In association with the Crédit Agricole bank and In Extenso, the Dordogne Delegation of the Chamber, known as FBCCI-24, was present in its quality as co-host at a “One Stop Shop” event in Ribérac on 20th April 2017.

The aim of the ‘soirée’, held at a venue known as the Café du Palais in central Ribérac, was to bring together certain professionals with a view to providing specialist advice and information as and when required by local inhabitants and business people.

Also the evening was an ideal opportunity to introduce the FBCCI Liaison Team, set up as a link between the Chamber and the Franco/British community in the department of the Dordogne (and surroundings).

Although clearly aimed at assisting ex-patriates , the evening was open to all and there were numerous French amongst the 55 or so participants.

Roger HAIGH, the local FBCCI Delegate addressed those present advising them of the aim of the Chamber;  i.e. to assist and inform.

The setting up of small businesses in France has become extremely complex recently, but Roger was able to assure those present that, with the help and guidance of the FBCCI-24, the problems can be overcome – in French or in English.

Other members of the FBCCI-24 Liaison Team also addressed the gathering with Ms France BITAN proposing specialist advice on fiscal and legal requirements.

In addition, Ms Marie-Claude BESSOUT was able to offer advice on inheritance matters and advise on the similarities and/or differences between France and the UK on this somewhat sordid but nevertheless very important subject.

Whilst the meeting dealt with serious and important issues, the formula for the event was informal and friendly, with the possibility to mix with other participants.   This was a successful and welcome change.

This enjoyable and informative event was “topped off” by a buffet and notably by the presence of “Périgord Beers” a local brewery recently established in the Dordogne under British management, brewing using traditional British methods.

Overall a very worthwhile event.
