Earlier this year, the UK government ran a consultation on its proposal to establish freeports across the UK.

The government received 364 responses to this consultation and you can find a summary of the findings and the government’s full response here. Freeports are designed to attract major domestic and international investment, create national hubs for trade, innovation and commerce, regenerating communities across the UK and supporting jobs.The government aims to create freeports across the nation to help drive Britain’s post EU Exit growth.
