In this latest article from Politico, John Lichfield explains the highly contentious issue of fisheries in the ongoing Brexit negotiations. While only directly concerning a handful of member states (France, Ireland, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands) and very small percentages of their respective GDPs (approximately 0.12% for the UK), this issue’s particular salience has made it so that a concession on either side will be deemed as a significant failure domestically.
