Eurostar announces the global launch of its official app in ChatGPT, becoming the first rail operator to offer this service in the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands. Available from this summer, this new experience allows travellers to search for Eurostar journeys directly through ChatGPT, access real-time information on schedules, journey times and available fares, before being redirected to eurostar.com to complete their booking.
Users, wherever they are, can now plan their journeys using natural language, either by typing or speaking. To do so, users need to connect their ChatGPT account to the [Eurostar app]. Whether they are looking for a train from Paris to London for a weekend getaway, comparing schedules between Brussels and Amsterdam, or finding the best itinerary for a trip around Europe, once connected, the Eurostar app in ChatGPT provides quick and easy access to essential travel information within seconds.
A new gateway to the European rail network
This new technology is part of Eurostar’s commitment to continuously simplifying the customer journey and making its international high-speed network increasingly accessible. Alongside the Eurostar website and app, ChatGPT now provides another way to access the company’s services, within an environment already used by millions of people to search for information and organise their everyday activities.
This development reflects a rapid growth trend already observed by Eurostar.
- Between January 2025 and June 2026, traffic generated by artificial intelligence platforms to eurostar.com increased fivefold.
- In June 2026, 85% of traffic generated by artificial intelligence applications to eurostar.com came from ChatGPT.
- Between May and July 2026, between 0.8% and 1% of ticket bookings made on eurostar.com originated from an artificial intelligence application.
For travellers, the benefit is straightforward: quickly access reliable information about a journey, discover new destinations and more easily plan international rail travel through an intuitive conversational interface.
In the longer term, Eurostar plans to progressively enhance this conversational experience. Several developments are currently being explored, including destination discovery, network visualisation, travel inspiration and simplified access to selected fares. The company also intends to explore the opportunities offered by other conversational assistants as these new uses continue to develop.
François Le Doze, Chief Commercial Officer at Eurostar, said: “Search habits are evolving rapidly, and travellers are increasingly using conversational interfaces to plan their journeys. By launching our app in ChatGPT, we are choosing to be present where our customers are already searching for information and planning their trips. Our goal remains the same: to make international rail travel ever simpler, more accessible and more attractive.”
