As of the 7th January 2022, fully vaccinated travellers arriving into England will not need to take a pre-departure Covid test. However, unvaccinated passengers will need to take a test within 48 hours before arrival in the UK. This can be either a lateral flow or a PCR test.

Transiting Airside

You do not need to complete a passenger locator form (PLF) before travel to England. When you are in England you do not need to quarantine or take any COVID-19 travel tests.

Transiting Landside

Must complete a passenger locator form (PLF) within 48 hours before arrival in the UK. Passengers need to do the following when they complete their passenger locator form PLF:

•Select ‘Stay in theUK’ under the Your travel plans section

•Reply ‘I will be travelling for an exempt reason’ to the question about whether you are required to self-isolate on arrival

•Select the Exemption options, and then select ‘Transit Exemption’

When you are in England you do not need to quarantine or take any COVID-19 travel tests. You must either:

•Remain within your port of entry until your departure from England

•Travel directly from your port of entry to another port of departure in England

Transfers between Heathrow Terminal 3 and Terminal 5

If their connection is in the same terminal, passengers do not need to pass through immigration or customs.

•All British Airways and Iberia flights operate from Terminal 5.

•American Airlines (excluding flights to JFK which will continue to operate from Terminal 5) , Finnair and selected British Airways flights arrive and depart from Terminal 3

•Passengers who are transiting airside can take a free bus transfer between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5
