Business France’s “Annual Report 2020: Foreign investment in France” shows that despite the context of health uncertainty, and a sharp decline in investments due to the Covid-19 pandemic, foreign investors trust France as a place to set up business.

France attracted 1,215 new foreign investment decisions in 2020, a -17% decline on 2019, versus -33% worldwide. The crisis interrupted the positive momentum of 2019 but has not challenged the attractiveness of France as an investment location.

🗼 Focus on Ile de France :

Despite the most serious health crisis in a century, the results of the 2020 assessment of international investments in Ile-de-France are historic. They confirm Ile-de-France’s position as the most attractive region in Europe. In 2020, Paris Region welcomed 336 direct international investments, representing the creation of nearly 11,000 jobs. This is the best result ever recorded.

In terms of jobs, the region’s result in 2020 represents an increase of 12% compared to 2019, which had already been a record, while the number of jobs generated by international investments fell by 41% worldwide, 28% in Europe and 13% in France. Industry is a growth sector in the Paris Region for international investors
