The Cross-Channel Institute has published its fourth sector analysis concerning the Challenges of Sustainable Development in France and the United Kingdom. Beyond Brexit and COVID-19, France and the UK have maintained their historical positions as European and global leaders in eco-responsibility. In this study, we examine the challenges and impacts of sustainable development in three sectors:
- Financial Services: this sector is a central pillar due to its role in directing financial flows towards more sustainable investments. It is also at the heart of Franco-British current events, particularly since Brexit.
- Energy: clean energy is the cheapest type of energy to produce, provided we have the means to exploit it.
- Construction (in the sense of building, not other infrastructure): building eco-responsible homes and offices is an essential way to lower carbon emissions, but it still requires a lot of research and development to get there.
